Oh what a weekend. I love weekends that are filled with family time. Less planning and things that we must do, and more spontaneous and exciting adventures do us all well! That’s exactly how this weekend was.
I awoke to Annabelle chatting on the monitor and no husband around. I was a little perplexed, thinking he’d get up for her, but I rolled with it. She greeted me with smiles and a few minutes later, daddy came strolling in with my Starbucks drink of choice and a Panera Cinnamon Crunch bagel! Poor guy had gotten up early to do it all but Panera didn’t open until 7! It was all worth it and we snuggled in bed for a few minutes before enjoying bacon and bagels for breakfast.
Annabelle made me the cutest flower bouquet with hand and foot prints (#dadoftheyear) and I got a shirt that says “Mommin’ ain’t easy” but can’t wear it quite yet
Usually we are up early and walk for the Race for the Cure, but I just didn’t feel it was best this year to do that. Mostly, I was concerned with needing a bathroom every 5 ft, ha! We met up with my dad’s side of the family at my parent’s house around 10:30 for a cookout for lunch. Annabelle napped over there so we were able to stay and catch up with everyone, which was really nice. We stopped at my in-laws on the way home before playing outside and having a fun filled family night of Annabelle being the silliest little girl!
Wings Over Pittsburgh
As much as I enjoyed giving up social media, there’s something to be said about finding out about fun events on it! A couple months ago, I saw an event for Wings Over Pittsburgh that was a huge air show with tons of different planes set for this weekend. Annabelle has loved seeing planes in the air, so I figured she’d enjoy an air show and I immediately wrote it down. Weather was supposed to be rainy on Saturday so I wasn’t sure we’d made it, but things changed and it was a beautiful day! My mom came with us as she’s always wanted to go, and we headed out towards the airport to watch the fun. Annabelle loved taking in all the action! They had lots of different military planes to tour and then the air show was phenomenal. We saw about 5 different acts, tons of air tricks, parashooters off of C-130 planes, and a glider put on a show. It was so much fun!
Definitely working my way backwards here! But Friday afternoon we met up with my Aunt Kate and Bridget at Bruster’s to get some ice cream (my cousin Shawn was working). Annabelle loved hers! We then headed to Mad Mex to celebrate Aaron’s and my birthday. It was delicious!
And now it’s Sunday night and I’m wondering where all the time went, but ready to relax and head to bed! What a fun weekend!
