Over the last week, my itch to run and sweat had started to come back. I had no plans of starting any exercise plan until I felt good and actually wanted to, like I talked about in my postpartum fitness plans. I had talked to Aaron about it, and on Saturday morning, the urge to run came and I decided to take advantage of it. Aaron had the babe and I decided to see what I could do. I had no idea. Maybe I’d walk and throw in some jogging. Maybe I’d run a half mile. Maybe I’d walk it all.
I started with a walking warm up to see how I felt (crazy how I could walk faster and not feel winded like I did during pregnancy! ha) and then started running. I made it a mile without stopping! Slower than I ran before, but I didn’t care- I was running!
After the first mile, I took a walking break and then started again, seeing what I could do. Turns out, I ran a bit faster! I decided to stop at two miles and lifted some upper body. I felt amazing getting a run back in my life!
I didn’t do this to lose weight or try to get toned up. In fact, I’m shocked at how much I’ve lost without doing anything! I honestly just needed a run in my life. I needed some endorphins and needed to feel more like myself, and that I did!
It wasn’t much, but I’ll be able to build up from here I’m happy with what I was able to do!
