So, I did it. I took my first spinning class yesterday. Well, I guess it was technically my second since I took one in college, but that was so long ago I’m not even counting it. I had NO idea what to expect other than loud music and a dark room.
I arrived right on time. I was aiming for a few minutes early, but let’s be real, it was 6 am. Class didn’t start right at 6, but they never do. Even mine I teach at 6am is never on time. As an instructor, I know there are a lot of things that need done and when the gym opens a few minutes before 6, it’s almost impossible to start right no time. But, it started fairly close and that was fine!
I chose a seat closer to the back, partly because I didn’t know what I was doing and partly because I was coughing so bad on the way to the gym I wanted a quick escape, ha. Anywayyy, it didn’t take me long to realize I was in for it, ha!
Recycled pic but forgot to snap one yesterday!
The music was great, and I was not. Wow, you think you run and your legs are muscular but gosh this is far from the truth. From the first spin my legs were tired, ha. I definitely loosened up and it was a good workout. I was going in hopes of finding something lower impact to do. My left knee hurt a bit but nothing major. I didn’t realize how you can work the core while spinning (other than just holding it in while spinning), work the legs even more with squats, the jumps, reverse climbs. Gosh, I learned a lot. I did catch on with the moves and did enjoy myself! I liked that it was 45 minutes compared to an hour. I’m not sure my legs would have lasted much longer I did love that no one knows your resistance. I am still not great at figuring out my scale, ha. When I was supposed to be at a 7, I’m not sure where I was. Anyway, it was perfect for a pregnant lady who is working really hard but maybe the resistance is no where near others.
I will say, my butt was hurting last night! ha I went to sit a few times yesterday and couldn’t figure out why I was in pain! Guess that’s why!
Anywayy I’m excited to give it another try. Now, let’s switch gears. We had our ultrasound yesterday! It’s been a bit hard to really get the baby connection since I haven’t felt anything and wasn’t really sick. Seeing the face and body on the screen, though, oh my. It totally brought it all to life! I am so in love and can’t wait to find out boy or girl! I started crying as soon as I saw the whole baby in profile. I love the little picture of the feet!
Today is quite a busy morning! I’m teaching at 6, doctors appointment (monthly check up) at 7:45, work til 11 and then taking off the afternoon! Check back here on Sunday (or follow me on Instagram!) to see if we’re having a boy or a girl! I can’t wait to share details of both the party, the gender, and my birthday on Monday! Have a great weekend.
