Ohhh last week was a doozy. It was hard and Nolan fought a fever for 5 days. But, Friday afternoon the fever went away, came back slightly Friday night, and we’ve been fever free since then! And when that fever went away, my happy boy came back. He started chatting again, he was sticking out his tongue, playing around. What a sweet, sweet relief.
All that means, we had a great, low key weekend! It was cold and we had no plans, which was honestly really nice to just chill and play. Friday night we stayed nice and warm with a fire. Last week the temps were in the single digits, if that. The wind chills made the temps well below 0. It was the perfect week to just hunker down and stay inside, which is what we did.
Saturday morning I chose to sleep in before the craziness began. We had a pancake and bacon breakfast, and then we made Amanda’s Banana Oat Greek Yogurt muffins. They were so good! I even braided A’s hair for the first time. I feel like a real mom after doing that, ha. I need practice, but hey, it’s a start! She had a fun time doing my hair, too.
I got in a workout with Annabelle after that. Guys. She is hilarious! She just loves when I work out, and actually told me yesterday to work out. I kept asking her what she wanted to do and she kept saying workout, so we did for a little bit. She loves the bands, and her own little weight. Jumping jacks are her new favorite. Gahh I just love that little girl! We also played in the snow while inside!
Anyway, back to our day. After nap, we went to the mall for a return and for Annabelle to get some energy out. I painted Annabelle’s nails, and we went to church before putting both children to sleep, despite both of them being in hilarious fun moods who didn’t seem tired! But, I needed them to go to bed because I was hooked on Big Little Lies. I forced myself to put it down so I could go to bed, actually.
Sunday morning I was up and immediately started reading. In fact, I basically did the bare minimal with the kids until I finished, ha! I had to finish! And I loved the book so much. Aaron told me I can’t read anymore, though, because I neglect everything until I finish books, haha! Seriously, add Big Little Lies to your book list for this year!
We hit up TJ Maxx for some new wine glasses and drinking glasses right after Nolan crawled! Yes! He finally did it, reluctantly, but he did it! He was mad because Aaron and I were brushing our teeth and he was in our room, so he finally got frustrated enough that he crawled! He’s been frustrated for weeks trying to do it, and now he can get all the things he wants (uhm, baby proofing now!).
I started this post during nap time while Benson decided it’d be fun to nap on me. Annabelle played princesses, my BIL came over, and we had a variety of quesadillas for dinner. I rounded out the night curled up with some blankets and hot chocolate on the couch.
