To say I was excited about Nikki’s wedding would be an understatement. Nikki and I became friends freshman year in college, and became roommates our junior year. She lives fairly close to me (same with our other roommates) and we aim to get together often. Her husband proposed over two years ago, so this wedding definitely had a lot of hype built up to it and I knew it would deliver.
Not only did Nikki look amazing, she went above and beyond with so many intricate details. I absolutely loved the way their personality showed in all the touches. The wedding was at 1:30, with the reception beginning at 4. They arrived and were introduced at 5, to which we had all the necessities done (dances, cake cutting, speeches, food) and were on the dance floor before 7! We danced until the night ended at 10, when we had a sparkler send off. It was absolutely gorgeous.
The day may not have started out well with the torrential downpours we had, but it couldn’t have ended any better. I know it was everything Nikki and Sam could have wanted, and now they are relaxing in Punta Cana.
I do have to note one thing they did that I absolutely loved and wished we would have done. They had a buffet, but salads were handed out. While we ate the salads, the bride and groom finished up their meal. By the time the buffet line started, they were finished, so they stood up at the front of the line and handed out the plates. It was so perfect because they got to see everyone at their wedding but didn’t have to spend the time walking around to each table (which took forever at our wedding.) If you know anyone getting married soon, suggest this to them!
Enjoy a look at their wedding!
Look how fun these programs are!
I mean, how adorable is this dress, and flower girl!
Kayla, another one of my roommates, giving the maid of honor speech. It was phenomenal!
I mean, could the theme Let Love Sparkle be any more evident or true?! What a fantastic wedding. Aaron and I couldn’t stop talking about it.
