This week has been crazy and a blur. I can’t believe it’s already Friday, probably because I have had the day wrong every single day, but I’m not complaining! Our weekend is completely up in the air, except for sure dinner with Emily Sunday night. Other than that, we’re just winging it. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow, so who knows what we’ll do.
We started the week out with tons of snow. A big ‘ol snow storm hit on Monday, which made for a perfect snowman. Annabelle and I shoveled the driveway and then made a snowman. It was the perfect snow for snowman building. Last week it wasn’t heavy enough but this was amazing. Annabelle had such a blast, and loved eating some of the candy we used to decorate, ha.
Since we were stranded at home, I finally took down our Christmas tree, and needed to organize our house. I felt like our train table just wasn’t fit in our room upstairs, and kids toys all in one bin was driving me nuts. I moved the train table downstairs, switched the coffee table and train table, and brought up one of the 9 cube organizers. It honestly was ridiculous how happy I was after that was done! But, it just looks so much better.
And now A can walk around the whole train table, whereas upstairs she was limited to three sides because it was up against the wall. Win, win!
It was still cold, though, on Tuesday, and my office was a mere 56 degrees when I went in. Thankfully, I dressed for the cold with a big comfy sweater, along with my blanket scarf that I actually used as a blanket, ha.
By the middle of the week, temps climbed to the upper 40s, and we got out for a walk! I bought Annabelle new rain boots that were on clearance, and she loved them. She had so much fun jumping in puddles! I loved the fresh air.
Annabelle and I had a huge princess dance party, too, after our walk. Twirling around, all dressed up like a princess. Ohhh these are the days!
The morning yesterday began with the most beautiful sunrise, which was the perfect setting for the gorgeous day of 60 degrees we had! We loved getting out of the house to play with Bennett. It’s been weeks since we’ve hung out, but the kids all played well together. Annabelle and I also had fun playing on her Leapstart that we got her for Christmas. While the kids napped, I got in a 5 mile run. I hardly ever workout during nap time. I really aim to get up before the kids or do it with Annabelle (she loves it!). But yesterday I just felt like playing with her while Nolan napped, so I hit up the treadmill and it went by surprisingly quickly and felt good!
After nap, we headed out for a walk. I had to get outside and knew the fresh air would do us all well. They both love the stroller. We also got to go outside and Annabelle jumped in all the puddles from our snow melting, ha. Just in time for the new snow storm to come tomorrow!
Of course our week isn’t without struggles, but who doesn’t have them. Kids crying. Dinners not fast enough. Not enough mom to go around. Too early morning awakenings. Exhausted mom. But, that’s life and we’re making the most of every day! The days are flying by and I’m loving them. Some days, yes, I get frustrated. I don’t want anyone touching me. I want the kids to play by themselves. I want to have 5 minutes to myself, or at least be able to pee myself (real life, yesterday Nolan was at my feet and Annabelle was standing in front of me. Forget privacy!) I know I’ll look back on these days when any of those start happening and I’ll miss my little kids. I’ll miss how much they need me. So for now, I’m trying to balance it all, and make the most out of the day. Not every moment is going to be perfect in life, but there are definitely moments that are.
