Hi everyone! I’m managing to check in a bit earlier today! The little one is asleep, and the older ones are playing some Wii! It’s 2:00 but I am only now managing to eat my lunch! Lunchtime is busy with three of them and left little time
I believe the time change has reached all three of them. First, though, it started with me. Before my cousin left last night, we decided not to switch the clocks in the kids rooms so that they didn’t wake up too early (they can’t get out of bed until 6:45). I knew this in my head, which is why I don’t know what I was thinking. Before I went to sleep, I set my alarm so I could be awake before they were. I even switched my clock so I was prepared and not questioning if my phone switched. So, 6:30 it was. Except, I laid in bed this morning and kept waiting for them to wake up… 6:45, 7:00, 7:10, 7:15, 7:30. Hmm I was thinking about waking them up when it hit me! My clock said 6:30, which was really 5:30 and they weren’t going to get up until, technically, 7:45! Needless to say, I stayed in the comfy bed until Emma came down, but I wish I could’ve gone back to sleep!! It was alright, though, because I got to talk to my mom for the first time since Friday! This time difference is a killer when you aren’t used to it.
Anywho, we spent the morning adjusting to the time change. The face they each gave me when I actually told them it was an hour later was priceless. Tire + confused= hilarious. They took their time deciding on breakfast and watched a show to wake up. This allowed me to eat some breakfast, too
With three children of various ages, I don’t know how my cousin does it! We spent the next bit deciding what to do. Peter shot hoops for a bit, but then came back inside. They are calling for 57 degrees today, it has been cloudy and drizzling, and not even reaching the high until about 5:00! What did we choose to do? Bake a cake.
Peter decided he didn’t want to help, so he watched! The girls loved it, and counted down until it was done! We spent this time doing what all girls love to do, painting our nails!
Emma had to scrub nail polish off. Anyone who has ever used sparkles knows exactly what I am talking about! She actually chose against her original pick of nail polish because it had sparkles in it! Too funny!
Charlotte told me that she can only pick one nail polish color. In the next breath she informed me that this is a special time and she can use more. Flash forward 5 minutes and she had one for each nail. I had her narrow it to two for hands and two for toes, and she was perfectly happy with it!
Um, Peter will never smile for the camera. He smiles all the time, but refuses when I put the camera up! Boys I tell ya!
Alright, at this point, I decided we should get outside and do something. I wanted to get out and see something is really the truth instead of staying inside when rain is being called for the next week! I decided to go on the path by the lake we were at last night. It is really close by, so I thought (and they agreed!) we should go for a walk, then head to the park, and then come back for lunch!
The walk was, uhm, not what we were hoping for. It was beautiful, and we saw a bald eagle, but it was cold. They said they weren’t too bad, but there was quite a nip in the air!
We walked along the path and were heading to the car, when it started to rain. It wasn’t too bad, but it still was not how we planned it. Some kids aren’t fazed by the rain, so I decided to suck it up and still go to the park with them if they wanted. Turns out: they didn’t! Each of them said no right away when asked. It was actually pretty funny. It still felt great to get outside even though it was chilly!
We headed home and finished some coloring, but they started getting ancy and wanted to do something else. When asked what, they obviously didn’t know! Ha Kids these days! I brought out some gifts for them, and decided to spread them out over the days. I gave them these large posters that had hidden pictures in them. They spent a good half hour trying to find the hidden pictures and did great! Charlotte (the 4 year old) was doing so awesome! She found a bunch before I found any.
Lunch time rolled around, and I managed to make them all exactly what they wanted, and get them to eat most of it! Fruit, veggie, protein, juice! Score We are just hanging out for now, with hopes to head outside somewhere after Charlotte wakes up! Who knows for sure though… there is cake to eat I guess I should also mention we will have some dinner too just in case my cousin is reading this Spaghetti with some veggies and maybe garlic bread which Emma requested!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Tomorrow starts a busy couple days with sports and school work, but then we have Thursday and Friday to hang out and explore the city! (The older ones are off school!)
Does the weather warm up to the high pretty fast where you are, or does it take all day to reach it?
Did the time change mess you up at all? I am not sure when I will be on the right time schedule! First I was 3 hours behind, then we just gained an hour, and my body is screaming at me to stop!
