Well folks, I think spring has sprung! We had beautiful weather starting on Friday, which allowed me to spend a lot of time outside, along with getting a few runs in. Since the weather has been so marvelous, it’s time to share what else was marvelous about my weekend!
Thanks Katie for hosting it! Hope you are enjoying Chicago
I was able to get a pretty decent run in with the warm-er weather. For some reason, though, when it is warm it is always so windy! I was fine on my way down the trail, but not so lucky on my way back!
We headed out after my workout for dinner to celebrate my mom’s birthday birthday at Stone Pepper Grill. I had the hardest time deciding what to get! The whole menu looked delicious, but I went with a great choice: Margherita Pizza!
My family also split a plate of nachos for an appetizing, but I was still trying to decide on my order, and forgot to snap a pic! Oh well. Here are some other pictures to make up for it!
We had a great time out! I also managed to convince my brother he needed to check out Trader Joe’s and that we should go! (It was very close by!) He gave me a 15 minute time limit in there! That was hard, and I was rushing around, so I will be making another stop soon I managed to grab the essentials: flax seed, chia seeds, pizza dough, whole wheat tortillas, and beef tequitos! I can’t wait to make some food soon!
On that food note, I have to tell you guys that our kitchen is completely gutted! I have had the hardest time finding food, and taking the time to make it! We have things upstairs and downstairs. We are without a sink to clean whatever we use, which is hard, but not having a fridge in the kitchen is the worst! We’re making due, though!
My Saturday was spent accomplishing items on my wedding to-do list, taking a walk outside, and spending time at Aaron’s.
This picture was actually staged because the guy behind Aaron has neon green pants on. I wanted a picture of those, but the picture of Aaron works just as well!
Who knew there was Cricket in the middle of our park! It was kind of interesting to watch, for like 5 minutes, then we moved on!
There was also a stop for Rita’s after our walk, which was marvelous!
I woke up bright and early yesterday, took a look at the temperatures, which were 55 degrees and clear skies, and took off for a run! Unfortunately, these legs wouldn’t move.
I have no idea what was going on, because I didn’t exercise yesterday, but they just wouldn’t move. My run was the longest thing ever, and I was just happy to end it. I had goals of running further, but it just wasn’t working out, so I listened to my body, and called it a day.
All I could think of for lunch was that I wanted Macaroni and Cheese and Turkey hot dogs. This is easy to accomplish, when you have a stove. Good thing Aaron’s family loves me and welcomes me at any times I went over and made the whole family mac and cheese, and then had to boil some more noodles. Matt and I were really in the mood for some pasta salad, so I needed to boil those noodles as well! The rest of the day was spent relaxing, which was perfect! The weather stayed in the 60’s and was as beautiful as could be.
Did anything special happen during your weekend? How do you know when your body needs a break? Did you do anything outside this weekend?
