Between all of the Christmas happenings, we didn’t plan anything for New Years. We turned down a party in thoughts of just laying low and hanging out.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. Annabelle woke up Thursday sneezing , coughing a bit more, and we could tell she was a bit congested. It wasn’t anything too bad, though, and our day went on as planned. I actually took her to hang out with my friends because she didn’t have a fever and woke up smiling from her first nap.
After we came home, she just got worse. Getting her to bed wasn’t so great. She finally fell asleep, but we could tell she was having a hard time to breathe. Fast forward to 11, when Aaron and I decided we weren’t going to stay up and wanted to go to bed. Annabelle woke up at 11:15 and screamed/cried/couldn’t breathe until 1:30 when we finally got her back to sleep. It was awful, you guys. I am so thankful she didn’t have a fever, but we are still dealing with her being sick I’ve cried more than I ever would have thought because there is nothing I can do! Thank goodness for the NoseFrida. It is disgusting but it’s totally worth it.
Pretty much sums it up.
Our weekend has basically just been laying low trying to keep her happy and being here for her cries and sleeplessness. I’m so thankful she was sick this past week where Aaron has been home so we’ve teamed up and been able to split middle of the night duty. I’m sure this first cold is harder than others will be, but that doesn’t make it any easier! I’ve definitely been soaking up the extra snuggles I’ve been getting, though!
I’m off to watch the Steeler game, cuddle with Annabelle, and try to get my act together on the new year!
