Today is Valentine’s Day. A Hallmark holiday to many; a day we really don’t go crazy for and celebrate to the max, but still one that’s nice to make sure we show the love a little bit more.
We’ll do the usual and get our cookie cake and grab some take out. Going out to eat on a day with tons of others crowding restaurants isn’t super interesting. I love our little tradition. Plus I love cookie cake, so there’s that.
Even though we don’t really celebrate with gifts, you are still my Valentine. It’s been 13 years and I fall more in love with you every day. They say you fall in love all over when your husband becomes a dad, and that couldn’t be more true. Every day I get to watch you interact with Annabelle is a special one for me. I’ve loved you since I was in 9th grade and it’s not going anywhere. I’m sure when our baby boy comes along, I’ll be falling in love again and again. You are truly an amazing father, and I am lucky to have you be my husband.
Through the years, we’ve had fights, we’ve made up, we’ve learned. We’ve had tough times, we’ve had sad times, we’ve had happy and fun times. We’ve been through it all, but there is no one I’d rather have next to me during any of those times than you. You’re my rock; my best friend. You’re the man I want next to me when I fall asleep, and the man I want next to me when I wake up. I’m excited for all the years to come. I know each year will just keep getting better.
I love you. Always and Forever.
Now for some fun! I saw this survey yesterday on Janae’s blog and thought it’d be fun to complete.
Who’s oldest? Aaron. He is 27 and I am 26
Who was interested first? I think I was. I tried everything to hang out with his friends and remember asking for his screen name. Ha, that makes me sound so old!
Same high school? Yes! High school sweethearts.
Most sensitive? Me. For sure! Especially being pregnant, ha. Sorry babe!
Worst temper? Me. I could probably count on one hand how many times I’ve seen his temper. I think he could count on one hand for the past few days on my behalf, ha! I could blame pregnancy, but I don’t think that’s necessarily it..
More social? Aaron. He can meet up somewhere with no one he knows and he will have no problems chatting to others and end the day making friends.
Hardest working? Aaron, for sure. He works hard daily at his job, and I know it shows. Then he comes home and is so amazing as a dad to Annabelle, and will work on house projects after she goes to bed. I think I definitely do work hard, it’s just in a different way.
More sarcastic? Aaron. He quotes a lot of movies and I never have a clue. He’s learned to tone down the sarcasm with me and save it for his family.
Who makes the most mess? Hmm. Annabelle? lol Just kidding! I would say he’s good at not letting messes bother him, so he leaves messes more. I definitely make more messes but I clean them up quicker.
Wakes up first? Ha, me. Aaron hates getting up in the morning. Mornings are my favorite though!
Bigger family? Aaron. He is one of 6 kids (5 boys and 1 girl) and I am one of two (older brother)
Who cooks the most? Meeeee. I’m home more and love giving him a chance to play with A while I cook dinner. I won’t lie- I would like some days off, though
Who cries the most? ME. Like that was a question, ha.
Better singer? Aaron.
Hogs the remote? Honestly, neither of us. We both just go with the flow and watch what the other is watching. We actually just hooked up our TV downstairs, but we like to hang out at the end of the day together so we’ll choose something we both will watch.
Better driver? Sooo Aaron drives the speed limit and I like to go faster. I guess he’s the safer driver, but I prefer me driving
Better cook? He can work with whatever we have on hand and make it taste good. I need a recipe but I can follow it and make some delicious meals!
Most patient? Aaron.
