This orange berry smoothie packs antioxidents and a veggie together for an all around delicious meal, or snack between meals.
Hi everyone! I’m so excited I finally took time to take some pictures and share today’s recipe with you. I’ve made this smoothie so many times over the past few months, but for whatever reason, kept putting it off!
My meals have been lackluster, but I’m breaking out of my funk and starting new meals next week! This weekend just had too much going on and I didn’t have a chance to meal plan. Oops!
I made a big batch of cinnamon pancakes, which I’ve been eating the past two days for breakfast. Super easy breakfast to heat up. Ready in a few minutes!
Monday night, for dinner, since I didn’t meal plan and I’d been craving it, Aaron and I had Chinese. It was about 5 stores down from my gym so I just picked it up on my way home. We split Sesame Chicken and I had an egg roll on the side.
My lunch yesterday was the leftovers of this! We had so much chicken that it served as dinner Monday for both of us and lunch for both of us yesterday! Love those meals.
Last night for dinner we had some grilled cheese and tomato soup. Somebody mentioned it over the weekend and Aaron and I just could not get it out of my head! It was perfect to eat before teaching class.
But now, for the real star of the show…
Orange Berry Smoothie
I love making green smoothies. Between the addition of a green vegetable, and the fruit that goes into it, I love knowing how healthy my meal (or snack) is. Lately, I’ve been making this Orange Berry Smoothie for a snack after work (like yesterday!) Some days, I make it for breakfast. For a meal, I include some quick oats and some protein powder. If it’s just a snack, I leave those out. There are times when I add yogurt to it, and sometimes I don’t. It is honestly all up to you! I give you the basic smoothie and you can put in any additions.
You begin with the liquid, which I used Orange Powerade Zero. With both Colitis, and training for the half marathon, I need those electrolytes. I have used Orange Juice in this as well. Both are delicious! Add the banana, chia seeds, fruit, and spinach into the blender. If you have a smoothie button, click it, or just a liquefy setting.
When you finish, you have this delicious beauty to enjoy!
