Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve!
Yesterday began with a 4 mile run. I had big plans to run outside, but they were calling for rain all day, and it had already started raining, so I took it to the treadmill. I’m not sure if I was just in the mood for outside or what, but those 4 miles dragged on. I had hopes of 6 miles, but definitely couldn’t last any longer.
I filled the day with all the last minute errands needed for last night, tonight, and tomorrow. Surprisingly, stores were less crowded than they were on Monday when I was out!
It turns out the weathermen were wrong, and it stopped raining around 10 am to never rain again! Aaron had the day off, and after a quick trip to his parents to drop off a gift, we headed to the park for a walk. With temps in the 50s, no coats were needed and we needed to enjoy that weather! Don’t get me wrong, I’d take snow any day for this time of year.
A little bit later, Aaron and I had some of my cousins from my dad’s side over. We did this last year, and had so much fun that we did it again. I made Rotel and Buffalo Chicken Dip. We also had a homemade apple pie, cucumbers with hummus, and chips with salsa. No one went hungry, that’s for sure!
Our night consisted of playing some Cards Against Humanity, along with making Ginger Bread Houses! Last year, my team’s house was terrible, and managed to become the “outhouse” for the other teams. We new we had to step it up this year, and that’s exactly what we did! It turned out a lot better than last year, and this year the other team’s was on the sloppy side. Who doesn’t frost a gingerbread house! By the way, we used graham crackers for all of it. Each team received some candy, two boxes of graham crackers, and 3 icings.
As we speak, I have a house full of sleeping people that I need to wake up. I’m off to cook some pancakes, and then get ready for my own Christmas Eve!
Have a wonderful holiday for all those who celebrate, and for those who don’t, enjoy your week!
