Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start. I am really hoping my voice comes back for good and I feel better. Oddly enough, I lost my voice Friday night, but I never really felt sick until yesterday. I woke up with the cough and cold, but my voice started coming back. Anyway, here’s hoping I get better or else it’ll be a long week! Here are the highlights of my weekend!
Bachelorette Party: Painting with a Twist
Britt is an artist.. isn’t she amazing?
A bachelorette party! Brittany’s bachelorette party took us to Painting with a Twist. Remember how much I loved that place? I was very happy to join in and be there for her day. Painting with a Twist really caters to groups and loves helping everyone out. They are so courteous and I loved going there for a bachelorette party! They made it so fun. The rest of the day included dinner at Hofbrahaus and then a night in South Side. However, I had plans already with my family so I had to pass on that.
Fall Craft Night
Let’s talk about how adorable her fall decorations are. She has a pumpkin patch outside! So cute!
We made a candy corn centerpiece and adorable Wine glasses! Loved it! I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do with my wine glasses, but these turned out great! One says “Witch’s Brew” and the other is just dots in the halloween color palate. The wine glasses were made with Martha Stewart Paint, and the black was chalkboard paint. We baked them in the oven. You preheat the oven to 300, then shut it off and wait 10 minutes. Place the wine glasses in for 30 minutes and then remove and you can drink from them and they are supposedly dishwasher safe (I didn’t try mine yet!)
The vases were super easy to make, too. You spray paint a wine glass white first (clear bottles work the best). Then when that’s dry, spray paint the orange about 3/4 up. When that dries, you will spray paint the yellow!
I took pictures of my cousin Jenn’s best friend’s baby, Kenley. She was the other one in the maternity photos I took before. I had a great time taking pictures of the baby! Would you believe she did not sleep once! I was there for 3.5 hours and she never slept. The only times I got her eyes shut in pictures were accidents. I felt so bad because newborn photos are supposed to be them sleeping! There are definitely other good ones, though.
Sunday included church, Insanity, and then what was supposed to be a day of relaxing. Instead, I got on a roll to clean the house, try to rearrange our family room, food prep for the week, and bake cookies for our friend’s wedding. For whatever reason, this batch did not turn out the best. See, even I fail!
Let it be known that I ate that cookie immediately. It was calling my name!
I will be remaking at least one batch of cookies before their wedding!
My Benson cuddling with me!
And with a night of trying to fix my laptop from virus’ that appeared, and finally sitting down to relax, that was my weekend! It was very busy, but it worked out and was a lot of fun!
