I’m here to share the rest of my pregnancy questions! Check here for the first half! So glad you guys are liking these!
**How have you been feeling?
Honestly, pretty good. You know the saying “the days are long but the weeks are fast?” That’s how it’s been. I have been completely exhausted. Still overall pretty good, though, and better than others that have been totally wiped out. I manage to teach all day, teach classes at night, and stay up until at least 9ish. Some days I catch a small nap, but I honestly don’t have time most days for it.
**Do you have morning sickness?
Thankfully, I have only experienced nausea a few times! I do get sick if I go too long without eating, though that has seemed to subside the past week or so. I have been sooo hungry! I wish I could say I was never sick. I experience stomach cramps/aches/pains everyday around 2ish until I go to bed. While it’s better than nausea, it still hasn’t been fun. I’ve had more days without it the past week or two, but it was pretty brutal for many weeks. It made going to the gym to teach pretty awful at night!
**Do you have any cravings?
Yes. My cravings have been for EVERYTHING bad for you. Think take out, junk food, desserts. We’ve had Chinese, Subway, Pizza, and more. I wish I could have had veggies and salads all the time, but that just wasn’t happening! I gave up meal planning because our meals were always dependent on what I was feeling after school. I had two emergency trips to McDonalds for Cookies n Cream McFlurry’s, haha.
**Do you have any food aversions?
Veggies, and then pretty much everything after I ate it. Once I fulfilled my craving, I didn’t want to see that food at all. It was weird. For instance, I would have a few bites of the McFlurry’s and then I wouldn’t want it anymore.
**Weight gain so far?
I have no idea. We don’t own a scale. I am also not exactly sure the weight I started at. I know I was up a couple pounds at my first appointment, but I was so bloated so it wasn’t an accurate number.
**Have you experienced any crazy pregnancy related emotions?
Not really! I can cry at the drop of the hat, though. After Matt moved, I was talking with him about how Niko was taking it. Remember, he’s a dog. Well he didn’t really like it, and I seriously cried for days thinking about him! I mean, come on. There’s been commercials that have made me cry, too. I don’t usually cry that easily!
**Any mood swings?
Honestly, not really. There were a few times I know I overreacted but within a few seconds I was over it.
**Any unexpected feelings or symptoms?
Yes. One night I had really bad stomach pains. They started out as my normal daily pains, which sometimes get better with food. It was the night we packed Matt up to move. I ate dinner, thinking I was hungry. I even ate more after dinner because the pains were getting worse. In the 20 minutes from leaving my parents and coming home, they got significantly worse. I was about 10 weeks, so the thought of miscarriage was prevalent in my mind. I was ready to go to the ER they were so bad! I called the on call doctor, and decided to wait it out if they didn’t get worse until he called me back. He called back about two hours later, and said to take Tylenol and try to sleep and if they didn’t get better in the morning to call him for an ultrasound. Thankfully, I was able to sleep and then felt better the next day and back to normal in a few days.
**How far along are you now?
13 weeks and a few days!
**How has work/teaching been going?
Um, it could be better. During the day, I am fine in the morning. I felt bad for my math class for many weeks because it was at the same time I would get sick. Between that and asking ridiculous questions about the same things we do every day, my patience was wearing thin. There were a few days I didn’t feel good and want to be at school but for the most part it’s alright!
Teaching fitness classes has been alright. No one could tell I was pregnant when I told them this week! I have definitely noticed my strength decreased and I am way more out of breath during the cardio warm up! I feel like I need more drinks throughout than normal, too, but I’m making it work. Thankfully, I typically feel fine once I start going, no matter what I felt like before. However, I am switching my schedule and going just to mornings. The nights have never been my thing and after working all day, doing it all just isn’t working and something has to give.
**How do you think Benson will react to having a little brother or sister?
That’s the question I’d love an answer to! We plan to have things up and ready many weeks prior to October so Benson can smell it all and get used to the new things. It will be a slow transition with him and the baby, I’m sure. I do think as long as he still gets attention, he’ll be fine. Let’s be honest, he just wants a lap to sleep on!
If there are any other questions you have, let me know! Next week I’ll start catching up on the past 13 weeks. But don’t freak! There aren’t 13 of them… in fact, weeks 1-10 are all lumped into one, ha!
