I hope you entered my giveaway for this delicious product. I can’t say enough great things about these Pretzel Crisps, and how happy I was to receive them in the mail. One of the first things I realized was that there are so many different flavors! I have had the buffalo and plain before. Enter: 5 new flavors!
Aaron happens to also be a huge Pretzel Crisp fan (I mean, who isn’t?) and was also excited when these came in the mail. He thinks some are for him. They really aren’t, but don’t tell him! One thing he could help me with, though, was the review! I am one picky girl. There are many things everyone else loves, and I won’t taste, or won’t like. Peanut butter would be one of those things! When I told Aaron I would be reviewing these, his words were “Oh good, I will review them too. They need someone who knows what is good.” Well played, Aaron. I did want to make sure you had the best reviews for these flavors, and because my taste buds are weird, Aaron has graciously volunteered to review them too!
Me – It really smells like straight up Jalapeno. I didn’t think I’d like them at all because I’m not a jalapeno lover but surprisingly they had just enough spicy flavor to them. Definitely resembled jalapenos, but not overly. Loved the spiciness! We tried it with salsa like the picture on the bag, but the salsa took away the taste. You also don’t need to eat many to get the kick of them!
Aaron- Nice strong jalapeño flavor smell right off the bat. First taste is pretty darn good. Jalapeño flavor is just right and you get some the jack flavor right at the end. The more you eat, the more the jalapeño and a slight heat start to take over and the jack just about disappeared. Tried it with some mild salsa, and it took away from the crisp too much.
Me- When you first open them, they really smelt like pizza combos . They are a tad spicy but not overpowering. Upon first taste I tasted more cheddar than chipotle. With every chip, I could taste the chipotle more and more. I thought I would love them because I’m a cheese fiend, but they weren’t my favorite. If they are here, I will eat them. I wouldn’t go out of my way for them because there isn’t too much to them.
Aaron- definitely smell like pizza combos! Not a big taste of anything up front but hey, I think straight pretzels are delish too. A subtle chipotle taste starts to come through and linger a couple crisps in and you start to get a small hint of cheddar with every crisp. I could eat more of these than the jalepeño in one sitting, which is can be both good and bad
Heather – They smelt like a white pizza upon opening! Mmm! Can definitely taste the garlic and the parmesan adds an aftertaste. Can eat many in one sitting delicious all around. Definitely one of my favorites!! I have enjoyed these numerous times since their arrival!
Aaron – maybe my favorite so far too. Big parmesan flavor right off the bat and the garlic is definitely there. Good balance between new flavor and traditional pretzel flavor/saltiness. These are at their full potential when you eat a few at a time rather than annihilating multiple servings like I would tend to do. I think these would be awesome with any cream cheese based dip, hot or cold.
Me – You have an immediate smell of buffalo when opening bag. Spicy but not too spicy. On my chapped lips they sting big time! Delicious for the buffalo lover. You can definitely taste the buffalo spiciness but can still taste the pretzel crisp, which makes me happy!
Aaron – Not your traditional buffalo taste… It’s a little sweeter buffalo taste, but it reminds me of my favorite pizza shop’s buffalo wings so I think it’s awesome! I could eat these all day. It’s a toss up for these or garlic parmesan for the best so far!
Me- Um, not my favorite. There is a huge peanut butter smell right off the bat, which was a turn off. As you know, I really don’t like peanut butter, and the name “Sesame” didn’t really warn me it would taste like peanut butter. I did try one, just to say I did and to see what they tasted like, but they definitely reminded me of peanut butter too much. I would say these were my least favorite.
Aaron- Whoa, first whiff is peanut butter. Wasn’t expecting that. They have a very slight peanut butter taste to them to go along with the smell. Weird. Not much else to go along with it, though. The sesame seeds add a bit of chewy texture.
Me- There really reminded me of an everything bagel! Unfortunately, I don’t really like those! I like things that only have one flavor to them; one taste. This had “every” taste, which you could for sure tell. I did taste these, and they still reminded me of a bagel! I even had my dad try them because he is a huge everything bagel lover, and he said they were his favorite. SO, if you like the bagel, you will love these!!
Aaron – Smells exactly like everything bagels! I’m a big fan of everything bagels and these are right on the money. I don’t think I could eat too many of them, though. I could see the everything spices start to overwhelm me after a handful. But just as I say that, I find myself continuously reaching for more. I think they just made a liar out of me. Aaaaand they’re gone.
Me- There is nothing else quite like the smell of original pretzels. I absolutely love these, and forgot how much I did until I tried them again. Sometimes, the regular old flavors are the best. I can eat an entire bag of these and be fine with it. I love the hint of salt you get when eating them, as well as the crunch of them. One of my favorite things about Pretzel Crisps is that they are easy to scoop dips onto. I would say the plain flavor is always going to win in my book when used with a dip. I can’t see any other flavor working out well with dips, but that’s just my opinion. Aaron’s is probably totally different…you know, for the normal people in this world who aren’t picky!
Aaron – Smells like. Plain. Taste like pretzels. Nice, crispy pretzels. Only difference between these and a Rold Gold is much less salt (added by Heather: I love Rold Gold because of the salt!). They’re very scoop-able for a French onion dip or something like that.
So there you have it! Hope you can find a flavor you didn’t know about and find them by the Deli on your next trip to the store! Now, I’m off to eat another bag of them…
Andddd I can’t forget.. the winner of the Pretzel Crisp Case isss…..

**Thank you Pretzel Crisps for sending me all of the flavors to sample and review! As always, the opinions are my own. Aaron added his opinion in to give a more rounded review (and I couldn’t keep him away!). I was not compensated for this post, but did receive the package free of charge. **
