My name is Jillian and I blog over at FitYaf. I’m so excited to be blog swapping with Heather as part of the #Elf4Health Challenge. If you haven’t read Heather’s post yet – read it first! It will help you set yourself a workout schedule. Then, come back here to read these tips for sticking with your schedule! I’m a group fitness instructor, so people often tell me “it’s so easy for you to stick to your workout schedule – you HAVE to go.” But guess what? Even if you’re not a group fitness instructor, you can set yourself a workout schedule and stick to it too! Tips for sticking to your workout schedule: 1) Once you’ve set your schedule – put it on your calendar, on your phone (set an alarm), on post-its on your desk – wherever it is that you’ll be reminded of your plans. 2) Be prepared with your workout gear – pack your bag the night before or bring your clothes with you to work so you don’t’ have to go home to get them. (I even once got into the habit of sleeping in my running clothes so all I had to do was get out of bed to be ready for my morning run.) Find something that works for you! 3) If you don’t already, consider working out in the morning. No one wants to have a work meeting, grab a cup of coffee, or anything else you might do instead of working out at 5:00am. 4) Make plans to workout with someone. Whether it’s meeting a friend, signing up for a group fitness class or even announcing it on your Facebook page – once you put it out there that you’re going to work out, you are more likely to stick with it. Better yet? Join an accountability group – why not check out one of my free challenge groups (I have a new one starting January 6th)
