Good morning! I was so ready to have a WIAW post for you… until I realized after lunch yesterday that it was Tuesday. Fail. Obviously it’s not the end of the world, but thought it’d be fun to participate again since I’ve changed up my meals quite a bit. Maybe next week…
I woke up yesterday so ready for a run. I set my alarm a bit earlier so I had time to lay there and get ready. Well, I looked at the temp, saw it was 55 degrees (which is perfect) and fell asleep a bit longer because I knew I had time. When I finally woke up, I realized it was pouring outside. Lame. Ever since it started getting nice outside, I typically haven’t been running if it isn’t outside. After pumping myself up for this run, I decided I just needed to get on the treadmill and go for it.
I was really glad I did! I ran 5 miles, which I was a bit concerned about prior to. Last Thursday, I went for a run outside, more a speed workout, and after my 3 minute warm up, I started to go faster, and my knee immediately became painful. I tried to go back to jogging, but it wasn’t having it! So I quit, and spent the weekend not running. So, to jump on the treadmill and have pain for about 10 seconds and then for it to go away, I was very excited.
Another part of my run that made me really happy, was that I was running faster for longer than ever before. I started on my usual speed for a longer run, and realized it wasn’t really pushing me. So I kicked it up a bit, and again, and again. I ran over 2 miles at a much faster pace than I used to. It obviously made me pretty darn happy!
At the end of my run, I decided I should have just gone running outside in the rain. I was completely drenched from my treadmill run! Oh em gee, the sweat wouldn’t stop. I had plans to do abs immediately after, but I knew I needed to quit sweating so I could get in the shower and make it to work on time! Abs had to wait until after school
See that glistening chest?.. it just got worse…
This week is my last week as a long-term sub because the students are done on Friday. Let me just say, teaching kids during the last week of school is a huge challenge! Most of them are checked out and done for the year already. There are a few who still love learning and are as intent as ever. It’s just combining the two that is the hard part I’ve been teaching them, though, and will continue until Thursday. Friday is a half day and will be spent hanging out, signing year books, playing games, which is totally fine. Until then, though, I have one more test to give, and a couple lessons to go over! I know this week is just going to fly!
Yesterday, I also found out some pretty awesome news. Aaron’s brother, Aric (yes, spelt with an A.. used to be weird, now seeing an E is weird), is his class’s valedictorian. I am so excited and proud of him! He has worked his butt off! We had ideas all last week, and could pretty much tell, but they didn’t give him the definite yes until yesterday! I also managed to snag a ticket off of Bridget’s family so I can see both her and Aric graduate on Friday! Wahoo!
Such a busy week ahead! Dr. appt last night, meeting with our priest tonight, Bridget and Aric’s Baccalaureate on Thursday (Christian Graduation), and their Graduation Friday! Such exciting things happening this week!
Lucky for us, the weather finally broke and it was hot last night. That meant we made it on the boat! Aaron’s sister came with us. The water is still as frigid as ever, but being that it was the only night this week we could go, we took our chances!
Right before I told him he really shouldn’t go in because the water was frigid, and it was cold outside with wind. So what does he do? Jumps in…
Surfing like a pro behind the boat
Freezing my butt off and definitely not giving in and going in the water!
