I know I have been asking for quite a lot of prayers from you guys lately, but if you could keep me in mind today as I have surgery to remove four more moles, as well as remove one again that came back as cancerous. It should be quick, and have minimal recovery time, but you never know. Thankfully Aaron was able to take today and tomorrow off to be with me! Thank you guys in advance. You know I love you all!
Aaron surprised me and told me he wanted to go out on Friday just to get out of our house, and explore some new areas. I was more than game as winter makes me want to stay inside, but I knew I needed out! I’m not usually one for spontaneity, but I loved it!
Our first stop was to Bado’s Pizza and Grill. We heard so many great things about this place, so we knew we wanted to try their pizza. We started with an appetizer of “loaded” fries, but they were kind of a let down. They just weren’t too loaded with anything. Lucky for them, I still like plain French Fries, so I still devoured them.
Aaron and I are huge white pizza fans, and when we saw theirs was voted #1 in Pittsburgh, we knew we needed to try it. It was really good, but I’m not sure if it was the best in Pittsburgh.
Right next to the pizza shop was a coffee shop that we had never heard of, which definitely meant we needed to try it. I was feeling quite daring, and had a Hot Chocolate. I am such a creature of habit, and really don’t like many places hot chocolate, but I decided just to go with it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t my favorite, but it wasn’t terrible, either. Aaron had a shot of Espresso that he said was really good.
I had been in the mood for Frozen Yogurt all day, so finding one was next on the agenda. We had to make our way to Tanger Outlets again to return something, so we stopped at a new place called Swirly Whirly. I really enjoyed it; they had many different toppings. The only let down was the worker was filling pints of Birthday Cake before we got there, and used up all of it. I had to stick to vanilla, but I do love me some birthday cake!
After making my return at Tanger, we finished the night visiting Aaron’s brother, Aric. He is going to school near there, and I had never been down to visit. We had a blast walking around, catching up with him, and pretending we were in college again. That’s never a bad thing, right?? It was such a perfect date night!
I was up early on Saturday so my mom and I could get on the road and head to Columbus, Ohio! We were so excited to hang out with Jenny and Kelly, and had the best time. We spent Saturday catching up, and doing a lot of shopping around Easton. My mom and Jenny were so cute to be around. They miss each other so much, and it was obvious how much they treasure their friendship! They spent a lot of time together as we grew up living across the street with husbands that worked long hours, so it was a big change for them to not be close by anymore. They make it work, and I know they both look forward to times when they can just hang out!
We even made our way into Trader Joe’s and I was so excited that they sold wine there! Ours in PA aren’t allowed to unless they have a café (which TJ doesn’t), so I stocked up on a few bottles. They were so cheap, and I am really excited to try them. Four bottles for less than $20; can you beat it? I also made my way into Lululemon for the first time. I know, I can’t believe it either, but we don’t have one in the malls close to me. I wanted to buy the entire store, but it’s way too expensive for me.
We went out to eat for dinner, where I enjoyed a crab and lobster bisque soup, followed by a hamburger. I was too busy catching up with them and laughing until I cried that I forgot to take pictures. Oops! The soup was phenomenal, but the cheese burger was just ok. There wasn’t anything that I was really in the mood for, so I ate half and was fine with that!
Easton is like an outdoor mall, and I loved how it was all lit up at night! Made it even more beautiful.
We finished our night just hanging out with their 3 dogs and a fire.
Kelly has a pug, and it was the first time I have ever seen one in person. I have only seen pictures of them, but they are actually pretty cute! I never thought I would say that, but it’s more like they are so ugly they are cute? Haha Regardless, I called her a pig, but her name was Lucy.
Unfortunately, Sunday morning came wayy too fast, and after lounging around for most of the morning (and still catching up… we never run out of things to talk about!), my mom and I hit the road.
It was honestly the best weekend from start to finish. I was really productive when I came home, too, so I’m prepared for the week! It’s such a great feeling, even though a nap would have also been a nice feeling!
All in all, I have to link up with Katie because it was the most marvelous weekend I’ve had in a while.
Of course I missed my boys, but it’s really nice to have girl time, too! It’s amazing how we never ran out of things to talk about, and were always laughing. I think I laughed for 99% of the time we were away!
