Good morning, all. Hope you had a great weekend. I think mine was pretty spectacular, especially because it was warmer, and sunny, and we had a party to go to!
Hooking up with Katie for some Marvelous in My Monday fun!
My weekend started out with… a run outside!!! After work, it was in the mid 50s! and totally sunny, so I took advantage and hit the park. I loved having the chance to be outside for longer than a run to and from my car, haha. Aaron even joined me! We both left feeling like our runs were much more challenging since we aren’t used to running outside. Aaron called himself a treadmill runner, haha. Too bad he has part of a marathon relay to run in a few months outside!
I actually started this run and a few minutes in realized I didn’t start the running app so I wouldn’t know what I ran. I immediately turned that around and just didn’t care. It was the first really beautiful day we’ve had in months, and the first time I have run outside since late November/ early December. I didn’t care about the pace I ran. I didn’t care if I stopped. I didn’t care about anything. I went slower when I was in the sun just to take it in. I went slower when I met up with Aaron so I could run with him. I went faster when I wanted to. I stopped when I wanted to. It was just an all around fantastic run!
After dinner I headed to Walmart and Aldis to do our food shopping and regular errands for the week. Aaron went out with his friend later on, and I stayed in. I woke up with a sore throat and wanted to rest so it didn’t get worse. While in Walmart I passed the candle section. It smelt exceptionally amazing this time, so I decided to pick up a scent. I chose Watermelon, and oh my word, you need to get yourself one of these! It is SO good!
I started the day like most of my Saturday begin- with a run! Love the long runs on the weekend. This week I did 7 on the treadmill while watching a documentary on the Costa Concordia cruise ship that sank in 2012. Pretty interesting and the time flew! Being that I felt sick on Friday night and went to bed early, I was up early. Aaron and I also took part in what has become a Saturday routine- cooking breakfast together!
This week it was pancakes. Mmm
My mom made me this scarf, too, which Matt delivered when Niko came to play with Benson. We wanted to get Rita’s Italian Ice (just opened on Saturday) and walk in the park, but the wind picked up and we froze while standing in line at Ritas! Oh well, we enjoyed that, but skipped the park.
I had cookie dough cream and topped it with Fudge brownie. Mmm
Before we knew it, it was time to head to my uncle’s for his St. Patrick’s Day party. He had one last year and it was a lot of fun. He really knows how to throw a party. Always tons of food, and tons of drinks! I haven’t seen all of my family in a little while, so this was a lot of fun!
Yes, I did enjoy more desserts (cookies) than real dinner food. Mmmm
I actually woke up feeling worse (not awful, though!) but wanted to just stay home and rest, so that’s what we did! My SIL and BIL came over after dinner to hang out, but it was really just a lazy day. I’m hoping to get rid of this cold, and sore throat.. this week is not the week for it!
And now it’s Monday and I’m off to enjoy (another) warm day after work! Have a great one, my friends!
