This weekend was the epitome of marvelous. It ended up being quite full, but with so many fun things! I’m so glad I get to share it all for this week’s Marvelous In My Monday! Thanks, Katie!
As I mentioned before, we have two important birthdays this month. One of them is Aarons! His birthday was on Friday, and we ended up going to Outback for dinner. Before we left, though, he received his presents from my parents and me: Toolbox and another toolbox. I should add that I let Aaron register at Sears for our wedding. It just so happened that also became his birthday wish list
(I made him a card! I will have to share pictures of that! )
Who gets that excited about a toolbox?! Newlyweds with a new house!
Our next stop was Outback!
Our dinner started out with warm bread. I am not exactly sure what kind it was, but it was very good, especially because I was starving!
Our appetizer was the Aussie cheese fries. I am very much in love with cheese fries dipped in ranch. It is a ridiculously unhealthy combination, but it was good.
Luckily, I paired it with a chicken Caesar salad for my main entree , which was very good. They make their own dressing every day, and I had asked to sample it before I ordered. Talk about picky eater! I didn’t end up eating the entire thing, but I made a very large dent! It was too good to quit!
Aaron stuck with the meat. He order the Outback special and a side of broccoli. He also had a Caesar salad to start, and raved about it!
No birthday is complete without cupcakes!
We finished the night heading to our friend’s house to watch the Penguins kick butt lose. It was the worst thing that happened all weekend.
Saturday was another jam packed day! I headed to garage sales (nothing good this week) and then to run some errands. I quickly baked up some brownie bites for a party last night before docking the boat (more on that later). How cute are these brownie bites?! I typically just make brownies, and wasn’t even going to until my friend Lindsay said I make the best and she would like some. Ask and you shall receive! One of the worst parts of brownies, though, is getting them out of the pan. Cupcake liners to the rescue! I just put the batter in the liner and baked! They turned out just as good and less of a mess! I brought them with me when we headed to a Cinco de Mayo party! It was a lot of fun with our friends, and lots of good food! I filled up with some nachos and cheese, a taco, and 2 meatballs. There were about 5 kinds of taco dip, chicken and beef burritos (which I heard were delicious!), and salsa and chips!
Such a perfect end to the night!
In case you missed it, I recapped the Pittsburgh marathon as a spectator here!
are you my Procompression sock winner?
Did you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
Just with the party on Saturday!
Do you like margaritas?
I do not. I actually hate tequila, so I’ll pass
