After sharing my decorating inspiration yesterday, I thought today I would show you how that helped me (some is still a work in progress!) to decorate my house. Though our house is on the smaller side, it’s absolutely perfect, and I love the warm, cozy feeling we have inside with it decorated for Christmas. In fact, last night Aaron and I sat on the couch and just took in the decorations while listening to Christmas music. I love listening to Christmas songs, and it was the perfect way to end the night!
My house has been decorated for over 2 weeks, but now feels right to show you around! We have one fake tree in our office, and one real one in our family room. Benson loves both, but more the real one. Yesterday I found him digging his way through the bottom branches while playing with the ornaments… not good! What do I do, though? Take a picture to send to Aaron, of course! Then I yelled at him, but it was too cute!
Family Room (daytime)
Fun fact.. the letters on the mantle spell out Believe, and I made them! My dad cut out the blocks of wood, and I finished them. My mom has a set, also. Oh, and do you notice the wall art hanging on the wall?
Family Room (nighttime)
Above the cabinets (bottom right photo) I really want to find the wooden letters to spell NOEL out within the branches. I also want to add some lights to both sides of the cabinets, but we are a little low on the plug situation. Maybe next year I will find a way!
This is our favorite decoration. Aaron and I knew we wanted our outside to reflect us, and this was perfect. Next year we want to add some more LED lights to other areas, but it all turned out exactly like we wanted! If only I could stare out my window and look at my house everyday! Lucky neighbors…
And the best decoration of them all…
Soak in all the Benny love he sends to each of you!
There are definitely more things I would like to add (always will be, right?), but will probably wait until after Christmas to find some deals. I didn’t think about it until after Black Friday, but some Holiday throw pillows would look great on our couch, and some holiday kitchen rugs. Kohl’s had them for $3.99 on Black Friday!! but do you think I thought about using them in my kitchen? Of course not! Oh well, for our first year in our house, I absolutely love all of it!
What is your favorite area to decorate in your house?
The tree because it brings the entire house together for Christmas, in my opinion!
What’d you have for dinner last night?
Me: Chicken Enchiladas made by my mom. An awesome surprise!
