The Christmas Spirit
This week has been all about getting in the Christmas Spirit. I mean, I didn’t really need help doing it. After we got our tree last week, it’s been pretty easy!
Aaron and I started the 24 days of Celebrations on Dec. 1. I talked about it last year, but basically there are 24 things in a jar that we pick from every night. Last year we weren’t able to do many because I ended up having toe surgery which was totally unexpected. Dec. 1 was go for a run outside, but it was late at night when we read it. You better believe it’s happening this weekend! We also picked watched a Christmas movie- so we watched Elf and had some hot chocolate!
Wednesday we picked take a walk outside with tea in hand. We did just that! I got home from teaching at the gym, showered, and we were off. I loved getting out and walking through the neighborhood!
Last night we chose “Leave a note of kindness; for instance, money at the vending machine.” We picked it after we got home last night, so we will do it today!
I was on a mission Tuesday to start making some cookies! Baking cookies easily tops one of the best ways to get in the holiday spirit. I just love the smell of cookies baking, and taste testing each one! One of my favorite things to do is hand out cookies to people we visit or parties we attend. So far, I’ve made 4 different kinds! I made a chocolate peppermint cookie (similar), white chocolate pretzel cookie, sugar cookies, and the beginnings of cake balls– but I ran out of time and didn’t get to dip them in the chocolate.
This month is already flying by! We had Aaron’s Holiday party last night which was so fun and we have many other parties on the agenda! It makes me excited, but at the same time, I just know they will go to fast. Make sure you are enjoying each moment and making each moment count!
