What a busy busy weekend! It seems I blinked and it was over as fast as it began. We still managed to have a lot of fun, though! I’m sure the month of August will be flying as fast as July flew! Gotta soak up all the moments while we can.
Friday afternoon I got in a great workout, Aaron came home, and he suggested boating. It was a gorgeous night so we called up Bridget to see if she wanted to join and she was more than game. We got down there around 5:30 and stayed until a little after 7. Annabelle swam in the water with Aaron, watched the ducky’s come closer and closer, and chatted away to us.
After getting her to bed, we grilled some pizza. BBQ and Buffalo, to be exact. BBQ pizza is my new favorite. Perfect amount of sweetness. Mmm.
Saturday we were up and out early. Aaron works for the government, and everything is super secretive. He can’t tell me anything he does, and there is no way for me to even get in his office. Well, once every 10 years (!!) they do a ton of work to open it up to family. You guys, it was ridiculous with the security, cops, and people patrolling the place! It was pouring down rain, which made it a bummer because there’s close to 50 buildings, but we got to see exactly where he works and met some of his colleagues. Annabelle loved hanging out with dad at work. He was allowed 10 people, only with immediate family and inlaws, so my parents and Matt came and his mom came. Matt and my dad are also engineers so they understood a lot of what we saw, but I had absolutely no clue!
After we came home, Annabelle napped, and then I started going on an organizing spree. I couldn’t take stuff being everywhere anymore so into bags they went or found a new home for them! Annabelle and I also went grocery shopping for the week and we had fish tacos for dinner. Mmm. The night ended with a trip to the mall. Um, somehow Annabelle knows who Mickey is and went CRAZY at the Disney store (it was at the top of the escalator!) and Build A Bear. Gosh it was the most adorable thing. One day maybe she’ll get something from either store, ha.
Sunday morning was, again, another early one. We go to a non denominational church, and for little babies, they have dedication ceremonies. Baptism happens when you are able to fully commit to accepting Christ. We had Annabelle dedicated, so both of our families came and some of our life group. It meant so much to us for them to be there. Uncle Matt and Aunt Shelby also got A this huge flamingo, and I think her grin shows her love of it, lol.
I was pretty wiped after all of this! We did some errands and hung out at home the rest of the day. My BIL Alex stopped by and A is dealing with a horrible diaper rash (maybe teething, finally?!) so she went naked for the evening It was a busy, busy weekend! Can I have a weekend after my weekend please?
