Hi everyone! How are you today? I’m already feeling like the weekend has flown by so I am off to enjoy the rest of it! Here’s a look at this week’s meals and fitness.
Sunday: Dinner at Aaron’s parents
Monday: Lasagna Soup (crockpot!) with fresh bread and broccoli
Wednesday: Meatballs with salad
Thursday: Fettuccine Alfredo
Friday: Chicken Parm Sandwiches (crockpot!)
Saturday: Buffalo Chicken Pizza at my parents
Sunday: Insanity Class- workout full of cardio. I felt okay during this. My legs hurt quite a bit, more just needed stretched and felt a little heavy.
Monday: Bodysculpt. For this workout, I focused on squats, then went into upper body, splitting it into three different circuits, completed twice. We finished with lunges and abs.
Tuesday: 5 mile run. Had plans to go after work and was looking forward to it as the temps were going to be cooler that day. However, Aaron was up early from jet lag, and then I was wide awake around 5:45, with nothing to do. I ended up hopping on the treadmill to get the run done. It wasn’t ideal; my legs are always heavy and tough to get going the morning after body sculpt. I stepped off the treadmill one too many times, but I got it done!
Wednesday: Interval Sculpt. I focused on three strength exercises, for one minute each, repeated once. We moved into a cardio section of 4 exercises, 30 seconds each, completed once before moving to the next circuit. Finished with abs. Left my arms burning!
Thursday: Speed workout! I had a 30 minute tempo run on the schedule. I warmed up for a half mile (maybe a little less) and then went at it. I actually was surprised by this. I pushed myself, but not to the point of death. I made it three miles, plus a cool down half mile, rounding out a bit over 30 minutes, and at 4 miles. I knew I couldn’t push myself to the max, but I don’t own a Garmin, so I don’t know my exact pace. I was very happy to see my times were all around 7:30! That made me feel great and I didn’t even feel awful at the end. It was a perfectly cool morning.
Friday: Rest day!
Saturday: 7.13 mile run. I was upset after my first mile because it seemed to be slower than what I felt like I was running. My hamstrings were tight for some reason, too. I kept pushing along. It was a cool morning (54), but pretty perfect; the rain stopped right before I went out (well, I waited for the rain to stop). I pushed myself up hills and all over trails. It began raining the last mile and a half, which shows why I picked it up. I’m glad I did, but I wish I could work on maintaining a slightly faster pace for the whole run.
Total miles run this year: 445.26 miles
