Comin to ya nice and dark on this Monday morning. I didn’t mean to ditch you on Friday, but after having my glucose test (diabetes test where you have to drink this heavily sugar loaded drink) Thursday morning, I was sick all.day.long. Pretty darn miserable and I Just didn’t feel like opening up my computer! Anyway, let’s chat daylight savings. I feel like we literally just did this and I was confused with Annabelle and now it’s time to do it again. I love the extra daylight at night but gosh I have been getting used to it being light in the morning. How many more weeks for summer?
Anyway, let’s talk the weekend. It passed by in a flash, as it always does.
Friday afternoon and evening we laid low. Emily and Mike came over with Bennett for dinner and we cooked a take and bake pizza, frozen breadsticks, and I cut up lettuce for a salad. Can we talk about my laziness? Aaron and Annabelle did bake cookies that afternoon, which has to make up for something! Aaron and I had planned to repaint the nursery but realized we threw out our paint tray so a movie and early bedtime it was!
Saturday morning we made quite the breakfast. For some reason I really wanted a brunch but didn’t feel like heading out to one. Instead, we made cinnamon rolls I had in the fridge, eggs, bacon, and skillet home fries. They were delicious. The whole meal was fantastic. We then headed to Home Depot to buy the paint supplies we needed and came home and painted. Long story short- we touched up the nail spots with the same paint and it turned out awful. So we needed to repaint the top portion of the nursery (it has a chair rail which was enough to not make it noticeable and we could save ourselves the hassle from painting the bottom). Regardless, the entire thing was just an annoyance, but it’s done!
Annabelle decided to take a super crappy nap, and after attempting to get her back to sleep and failing, we laid around, ate lunch, attempted nap #2 (fail, which I knew it would), and then headed to our friends. The big St. Patrick’s Day parade was Saturday downtown, so everyone was celebrating. We could only stay for a little bit, but Annabelle had a great time (As we did we!). She sat at the bar with the adults, drank orange juice out of a cup her size, and ate pretzels. Basically, everything she doesn’t get at home! We came home, fed A, put her to bed, and then Aaron and I enjoyed some Fixer Upper while eating dinner.
You know how you always hear pregnancy stories of the wife sending the husband out for crazy cravings? I never had those with Annabelle, but I could NOT get ice cream out of my head! I saw Snaps of ice cream and milkshakes, and commercials, and finally I declared I needed one. Aaron headed to McDonalds for a cookies ‘n’ cream McFlurry and it was so good. I’m glad I now fall into the pregnancy stereotype category, ha!
Sunday morning basically included breakfast, church streamed on the computer because #momfail I thought it was 7:45 and it was 8:45, and tons of playing around. Annabelle has been obsessed with baby dolls and it’s the cutest! We put decals up on the baby boy’s wall and hung a sign. Annabelle ran around like a crazy goof, and Aaron and I were ready for a nap midday from trying to keep up with her. We also didn’t get out of PJs until the middle of the afternoon. Some days are just like that! We did make it to IKEA and Costco after A’s nap, made a smoothie full of nutritious ingredients, and had my BIL stop over in the evening, though.
And that was our weekend!
