I make it a point to be real and tell you I believe in eating in moderation. I believe you can eat what you want and be okay with it. I don’t think food should be off limits. But then I got thinking, and realized that I don’t share my food choices too often, or even a complete day of food with you all.
When I first started this blog, I had full intentions to share my food, but I was still living at home and didn’t cook and my food just wasn’t too pleasing. Then I moved out and I stuck with sharing fitness posts, which I love. However, I want to be real with you, and want to know if you are interested in seeing what I eat on a regular basis.
**Before I begin, I want to be honest and say that my appetite has been off the past few days. Some things have happened (I’ll share next week) and that affected my appetite! Just keepin it real**
What I ate Wednesday Tuesday
Breakfast- Pre Run: (8:30am)
I actually didn’t wake up until around 8ish. I was up late reading after my friends left, and just enjoyed the slow pace of the morning. With temperatures reaching the high 80s today, I thought I’d head out for a run while the temps were still in the 60s (perfect decision by the way!) Before I went out on a run, I snacked on one of these Cinnamon Applesauce Muffins.
I headed to the trail and completed 5 miles, with negative splits (something I typically can’t do on the trail as I don’t have a Garmin). I came home to finish the last 2 miles on the treadmill so I could control my speed as I wanted to do a slow cool down.
Breakfast (Post Run): (10:00am)
I was starving by the time I was done running. I started drinking some chocolate milk while waiting for my food to cook.
Let me be totally honest and say on Monday I only had a bowl of cereal for breakfast and dinner and a bagel with watermelon for lunch. Yes, I know that wasn’t enough. Like I mentioned before, it was just a day I couldn’t stomach anything. I knew that after a run I really needed to get the calories in from both Monday and from the run, so my breakfast is quite large.
I went with Salsa Eggs, watermelon, 3 pieces of Turkey Bacon, and a bagel with cream cheese. I like to de-dough my bagels, and take some of the dough out before toasting them. I don’t like all the chewiness and prefer the crunchy part of a bagel.
Shockingly, after I made my breakfast, I wasn’t really into it anymore, but did eat all.of.it. It was so much food, but I felt a lot better after finishing it all.
I went with carrots, celery, cantaloupe, pretzels, and an Applesauce BBQ chicken from dinner the other night. It wasn’t my favorite chicken, but it was good!
I paired it with some Sparkling Ice Lemonade water. I can’t get enough of these drinks! They are delicious! I know Target, Giant Eagle, and Walmart sell them around here if you haven’t tried them before!
I was over my parents for dinner last night. We had fish tacos, watermelon, Caesar salad, and some tater tots.
I actually didn’t think I’d like the fish tacos, as I’m picky, but they weren’t bad. She made them with tilapia, but by the end I could really taste the fish so I only had one. Mine had some Cilantro sauce on it, the fish, avocado, lettuce, salsa, and cheddar cheese. I know I’ll definitely be making these for Aaron again!
Two Oreos with a side of a dog I had these while hanging out on my parents back deck! Niko was really begging for them, ha!
Being home actually makes me snack less as I’m typically a lot busier. When I work, I always have a morning snack and afternoon snack. Since my breakfast and lunch were later than usual, I skipped the snacks because I just wasn’t hungry. If I get hungry throughout the day, no matter when, I always grab something to eat. However, today I am back at work. Schools started and while I don’t have a full time job, I am back as a sub. It’s bittersweet, but we’ll see how today goes! I have snacks in case I get very hungry!
