Alright veggies, I still need to work on you…
I know I say this every week, but really, I feel like it flew by! Thanks again to Jenn, who just shared her terrific news on Monday, for hosting this link up! I love reading about what others are eating and how I can incorporate some more veggies in my life!
Today called for cardio on Best Body Bootcamp, and being that I am trying to increase my running, I kept it to a 40 minute steady run on the treadmill. I kept moving to Jillian Michaels as she yelled at The Biggest Loser participants! I enjoy watching that show while I run for the motivation that it gives me!
I started my morning with a bagel (after removing the insides of course) and a vegetable cream cheese. This cream cheese rocks, and now I have a hard time going back to plain one! My dads company is rude and making the employees work major overtime; 6 days a week, at least 60 hours. However, they are nice enough to bring in breakfast and lunch on Saturdays for everyone. Since my dad is a manager of his department, we might have gotten all the leftover Einstein bagels, which might have been a bad idea in hindsight.
I love bagels. I enjoy eating them. I savor them. I may have eaten one every morning since we got them, and I should stop, like now. I do sometimes feel like bagels keep me full after a good workout, or I tell myself this to make it ok. Vegetable hummus is one of my favorites, and I like to pair it with bagels, which is about the only thing healthy Garden vegetable cream cheese, though, is ranking high and crushing all hopes of veggie hummus appearing on my bagel.
Alright, enough of my bagel love…
I didn’t have time (and wasn’t hungry) for a snack in the morning.
I should add that I have at least 3 cups of Green tea (Tazo Zen to be exact) every morning. I fill up one thermos (1.5 cups) to drink when I get to work, and have another back up prepared for when that runs out! I can’t say this happens on the weekend all the time, but it happens everyday during the week! I usually drink this within 1-2 hours of my workday, which helps to keep me feeling full.
Not very veggie oriented. We have a bunch of leftovers in the fridge that need cleared out (aka eat them!), so that became my lunch. We made a taco dinner the other night, which is easy, and delicious.
Basically, cook the taco meat like you usually would. Open a can of Crescent rolls and peel them apart. Lay them flat on a baking dish, and add a spoonful of taco meat to each one. Roll them up and bake according to Crescent roll instructions! Easy meal, and delicious leftovers. I forgot lettuce, so I topped mine with plain Greek yogurt, and salsa.
I also had some leftover Quinoa Mac ‘n Cheese.
I was trying to hold off on a snack until I got home from work, but became hungry around 2:45 so I pulled this out of my purse!
Also, my brother and I decided to bite the bullet and buy some new protein last week (they come in 5lb containers, so we had to decide what we wanted).
We I have been using Matt’s chocolate protein for a while. I’m not too sure he used any of it. Oops! It ran out and I whined like a baby for him to buy more so I wouldn’t have to fork over the money, but he wasn’t having it. I kept holding out hoping someone would want to buy some. The reason? I couldn’t decide what kind I wanted! I knew I loved the chocolate, but they also had cupcake batter and cookies ‘n cream! I really love making milk shakes with protein powder (water, ice, protein in a blender!) so I decided to go with cookies ‘n cream and Matt bought chocolate. Win-Win Anyway, this arrived yesterday, so I also enjoyed one of those before heading off to CCD!
I am set on protein.
The FedEx man came as I was getting ready to leave. I patiently waited for him to take the
25 5 minutes it took him to bring my protein to the door. I had the water and ice already in the blender and immediately threw protein powder in, mixed it, and took it with me! I think I have to play around with the consistency, though. I couldn’t taste too much cookies ‘n cream flavor, so I think I watered it down too much! Still enough to hold me over through CCD!
Dinner: A few weeks ago I mentioned how delicious our dinner was. Super simple, but it’s just one of those meals that tastes good! Chicken teriyaki, brown rice, broccoli, grilled sweet peppers. Mix it together and I feel like I’m eating Chinese (but much more filling!)
My awesome brother cooked extra chicken and broccoli for me, so now I have one for lunch tomorrow, too!
After dinner snack: Well, you know what time of the year it is: Girl Scout Cookie time! My mom and I are obsessed with Thin Mints. Unfortunately, all of our neighbors have grown up, and we haven’t seen them being sold anywhere so we thought we’d be lost this year. Luckily, someone my mom works with has a daughter selling them, so we snagged a few boxes Needless to say, I couldn’t hold back on those puppies! Oops. Good thing they aren’t around all year!
