You know what today means, right? It’s hump day! The workweek is halfway over, and we are closer to the weekend! I cannot wait for my weekend, and hope you all have great plans to look forward to
This week for WIAW, I wanted to switch it up a bit. I have really been eating the same things, or leftovers of food that isn’t remarkably pretty. I wanted to share some of my favorite snacks that I have been lovvvinnnggg lately! If I had it my way, I really would snack through the day!
Chocolate (Protein) Milkshake:
I really like calling it a milkshake, because it holds off on my actual desire for one that much longer! I usually just have one after a workout!
My favorite ones are the Chocolate Chip (shocker!) and Blueberry Crisp. I was eating these everyday while I was doing Insanity because I tried to follow their meal plan and incorporate 5 meals that were the same size. Since then, I usually just eat them if I know I need to hold off hunger, or if I have had a small lunch and dinner is a while away.
Clif Z Bars:
My favorite! Nothing quite like an Oatmeal Cookie bar, Honey Graham, or Chocolate Chip bar. I tried the Brownie one, but I didn’t feel so great after, and haven’t tried it again. I have found boxes of the Oatmeal, and Chocolat Chip at Target, but when I am at Trader Joe’s, I usually just buy multiple individual ones. They are only $0.69!
Luna Protein Bars:
I have been eating these a lot as my mid afternoon snack. For some reason lately, my work schedule has gotten earlier and earlier, which basically means I work out after school instead of before. This protein bar gives me the energy I need to get home and complete my workout without dying from hunger and fatigue! I really like the cookie dough, and chocolate flavors.
All time, favorite! I love salty things, and these just beckon for me. At SAMs club, you can buy a huge bucket of UTZ pretzel nuggets, and I eat them all the time. They make it nice, too, when I just need something salty, I’ll just grab one or two!
During Insanity, I decided to try out the fat-free, healthy popcorn. Before this, butter popcorn was where its at, and I never deviated! I loved butter lover’s, but have now grown to love this healthy option! For 100 calories, I can have 5 cups of popcorn, and it has 5 grams of protein! I mean really, how great is that!
Cat Cookies (for people) :
These were one of my first purchases at Trader Joe’s, and now can’t get enough. They have a bit of cinnamon to them, and are just crunch and delicious. The fact that they are cookies helps a little, too 🙂
Though it doesn’t look like it, I do enjoy fruit as a snack most days! My favorite are Granny Smith apples, and oranges. In the summer, though, you can find me with strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, and blueberries!
I think that rounds up most of my snacks. I tend to just rotate them each day! I definitely enjoy my snacks, and love when they are healthy, but don’t have the healthy taste that sometimes deters me!
